Marriage Sunday Suppers

A Fall Date Night for You and Your Man

It is easy to fall in love with Fall. But in Florida, we have to wait a long, long, sometime never-ending time for Fall. It was 86 degrees on Halloween night last year, and the poor kids were sweating in their costumes. People are often envious of our balmy weather, but when the rest of the world is sporting sleek boots and cozy sweaters I get a little green longing for fiery orange and falling red.

When Fall finally makes an appearance, we scramble to milk it for all it’s worth. And it’s worth at least several romantic, cozy, intimate, and cheap date nights a season. Fall in love with the season again using my fun fall date idea.

This is pretty basic girl scouts–you can create a blaze in your lover! Mine is pretty easy to ignite even after two decades of marriage!

All you need is a fire pit and some wood (got to use the fire pit when we can!)…

…and some hot chocolate. Chocolate is involved in all of our dates. I have my husband convinced chocolate is an aphrodisiac. I had to do it. He was not a dessert man when I married him–he is now! Happiness is a mutual thing 🙂

I have pinned 6 new hot chocolate recipes on my Pinterest “Cook This” board to try this year. You can too.

Here are two of them…

Jr. mint hot chocolate

This one actually has Jr. Mint candies in it–yum!

Pumpkin spice hot chocolate

This is a pumpkin spice hot chocolate–double yum! (Click on the images above to get the recipes from these obviously romantic bloggers.)

Hope you have a deliciously, cozy date night!  We will too…somehow he looks cuter in the Fall…firelight smooths out the wrinkles. Another good reason for a cozy, fireside date–I’m going to look better without any effort! Sheesh, now I am saving time and money.

One last thing…if you need to get the spark going with some conversation, try these conversation starters. They can help, and they are free, too! There are so many, skip the Kid Talks and look for the date night, coffee night, and marriage Talks.
